To manage the consequences of a potential high hazard
incident in the most appropriate way it's important to understand
the possible impact it could have on people, property and the
environment.
The Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmosphere Regulations
(DSEAR) are relevant for many businesses and require Hazardous Area
Classification to be carried out in order to identify where
flammable atmospheres may be present.
You can access our suite of tools, techniques, facilities and
experts to help you fully understand the consequences of your major
accident hazards, allowing you to best manage the risk profile of
your business.
We have expertise in a very wide range of consequence modelling
techniques ranging from very simple models to Computational Fluid
Dynamics (CFD). For example, our specialist team can accurately
model flammable substance releases, the dispersion of toxic
chemical vapour releases, vapour clouds and fires including smoke
movement.
We also share our knowledge through relevant training, and have
developed an accurate and convenient hazardous area classification
software tool: Quadvent
2.
As we advise and guide HSE inspectors, work with relevant
industry bodies at a national level, and investigate when things go
wrong we're uniquely placed to provide you with relevant and
pragmatic support to help you demonstrate - and go beyond -
regulatory compliance in your highly complex and technical
world.
