We strive to meet customers' requirements by supplying services that are undertaken to the highest professional standards, represent value for money and are delivered on time.

In addition to audits by various external bodies, HSE has an internal audit programme, carried out on a six-monthly basis by qualified internal auditors, covering the Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental management systems.

Quality Management

HSE's Science Division operates under a quality management system that is certified by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) as complying with the ISO 9001:2015 standard. It covers all of our scientific activities and project management, from planning through to delivery, reporting and post-project evaluation.

In addition, a number of our tests are UKAS accredited to the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2005.

Our AIMS Proficiency Testing scheme is UKAS accredited to ISO/IEC 17043:2010, allowing participating laboratories to demonstrate to their customers a complete commitment to quality.

We recognise the importance of organisational culture in this and - in common with many other organisations - use the Safety Climate Tool as part of a process of continuous improvement. Our comprehensive health and safety management system is certified by LRQA to OHSAS 18001:2007.
