Assessment and Analysis of Risk
It is well understood that in many process safety
contexts, where operations involve inherent hazards, risks can be
reduced but not eliminated.
Once you are clear about the major
accident hazards that are associated with your business, you need
to know how likely they are to occur and whether the resulting
risks are both as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP) and
tolerable.
This is achieved by assessing and quantifying your specific
risks.
Within complex industrial processes and technologies this is a
specialist technical discipline.
We can give you the assurance that you're making the most
appropriate judgements relating to your high-consequence risks.
Helping you to assess and control risk
Whatever your needs in this area, we have experience and
expertise that can be applied to your situation.
For example, we can:
- 'check your work' by providing an expert review of your own
calculations
- validate your assumptions using mathematical modelling or our
physical experimental test facilities
- provide supporting data for use in modelling
- offer guidance as to which methods of risk assessment and
analysis methods to use
Why work with us?
We've carried out risk assessments including Qualified Risk
Assessment (QRA) across a number of industries involving toxic and
flammable substances from chemical process and storage facilities,
hazardous goods transportation and nuclear establishments.
We train HSE inspectors on the appropriate use of thses
techniques and can also share this knowledge with you through our
bespoke consultancy services or relevant training courses which
cover everything from 'Demystifying COMAH' to 'Technical Aspects of
Safety Reports'.
