Introduction
HSE will be hosting a 2-hour bitesize event focused on
completing efficacy evaluations within a GB BPR Biocides Product
Assessment Report (PAR). This session will aim to deepen your
understanding of the efficacy section of the PAR and provide
step-by-step guidance on how to complete it from a regulator's
perspective. You will gain practical tips and insights on building
a robust data package and effectively evaluating product claims
The session will be delivered by HSE efficacy regulatory
specialists. While the broad scope of the topic means not all
scenarios can be covered in detail, there will be an opportunity
for questions and discussion at the end of the session.

The following topics will be covered:
- Introduction to efficacy evaluations within a GB PAR:
Describing the product's use in the field and function along with
efficacy claims, organisms to be controlled, and the effects on the
target organisms
- Explaining how the product works: Mode of action of the active
substance
- Breaking down data requirements and presenting the data:
Completing the efficacy data table and conclusion, and standardised
and non-standardised testing advice and tips.
- Efficacy limitation statements: Occurrence of resistance
statements and known product limitations
- Evaluation of product label claims

Who should attend?
This course is designed for individuals involved in preparing
and submitting Product Assessment Reports (PARs) for biocidal
product applications. It is suitable for authorisation holders or
applicants, regulatory affairs professionals, consultants, and
others working in biocide regulation. No prior experience is
required, as the course will provide a comprehensive overview of
the general requirements for completing an efficacy evaluation
within a GB PAR.
Live Online Course Information
All you will need is an internet-connected computer, laptop or
tablet, plus a webcam and microphone. We do not recommend using a
smartphone. Before you book, please check that you meet the Zoom
