Kieran Lyons
Sustainable Energy Safety Engineer
Kieran is an engineer within the Explosives Atmospheres team in
HSE Science Division. He is a member of the Institute of
Measurement and Control with a first class bachelor's degree in
Aerospace Engineering and a background in telecommunications.
Kieran has been involved in the design, assembly and operation
of large-scale experimental facilities designed to provide insight
on significant and poorly understood hazardous scenarios, with a
particular focus on the use of hydrogen as a fuel.

- Vapour cloud explosions
- Instrumentation and data acquisition systems

- HyTunnel - Exploring the safety profile of hydrogen vehicle
accidents in confined spaces
- PRESLHY - Conducting pre-normative research to enable adoption
of liquid hydrogen as a fuel
- LH2 Consultancy (Airbus) - Providing expertise on the use of
liquid hydrogen to the aerospace sector
