Responsibility

Everyone involved in the transport chain has a part to play in making sure the load gets to its destination safely, but actual responsibilities will depend on who has done what.

For example, a driver may also be the person who loaded the vehicle and secured the load in some cases. In other cases the driver will not see the load at all and will simply collect a loaded, closed vehicle. It doesn't necessarily matter who does what - as long as everyone knows who is responsible at each stage and has the right knowledge and experience to do their job.
